Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics Collection - overview

A collection of anaesthetic apparatus from the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, dating from1850s - 1960s, including apparatus designed by the late Sir Robert R. Macintosh (Professor 1937 - 1965).

The collection was looked after at the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics by Mr Richard Salt, Honorary Curator and former chief Technician to Professor Macintosh. The original catalogue was compiled by Dr Audrey Eccles, Archivist to the Association of Anaesthetists' Museum (The King Collection) in London.
