Bladder fish from the Tradescant and Ashmolean collections
This dried specimen of a bladder fish (chilomycterus reticulatus, from the tropical Atlantic Ocean) is thought to have belonged to the Tradescant Collection and entered the Ashmolean Museum at its foundation. The bladder fish was a common feature of collections from the period.
