Spring, 1996

The previous two issues of Sphæra have been well received, both by general museum visitors and those with more specialist interests. The original print run for each issue was set at 700, but this proved insufficient for Issue 2, which had to be reprinted.

In Issue 1 it was promised that an ‘Occasional Paper’ would sometimes accompany Sphæra. Included with this issue is the first of these, Richard Drayton’s ‘Seminar Manifesto’, derived from his introduction to the inaugural session of the ‘Collection and Comparison in the Sciences’ seminar series held in the Museum last year.
