Saturday Opening

Autumn, 1995

From the beginning of October the Museum changes its days of opening. Instead of Monday to Friday, it will be open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday. Hours of opening remain as 12 noon to 4 p.m. The aim of this change is to improve our accessibility to the general public, by being open for a day outside the normal working week. Opening on Saturday rather than Monday brings us into line with a number of other major museums; in particular, all the other museums of the University of Oxford are open on Saturdays. The Library will not be available, but readers can continue to make appointments to attend on Mondays. The office and other departments of the Museum will keep to the regular working week, but it is intended that a member of the curatorial staff will always be available during the Saturday open hours.
