'Prospectus intra Cameram Stellatam': one of the twelve plates of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, commissioned c. 1676 by Sir Jonas Moore and engraved by Francis Place (1647-1728) after drawings by Robert Thacker. The 'prospect within the star chamber' shows what is now known as the Octagon Room in the observatory. The instruments depicted are a 3-foot quadrant and 81/2-foot telescope and the portraits are of Charles II and James, Duke of York (later James II).
