16. Gunner's Sight

An unusually long gunner's sight - graduated to 9½ inches - which enables a gun to be set to a high elevation. To improve the instrument's portability it separates into two parts (just above the 5½ inch line); the upper part is held in place by a spring catch. Rather than a slider in a central slot, the sight is attached at the side of a sliding cursor. The short projection on the underside of the stand enables alignment with the centre line of the gun's barrel.
