6. Johann Schöner, Globi stelliferi, sive sphaerae stellarum fixarum usus et explicationes (Nuremberg, 1533)

A rare example of Schöner’s explanatory tract on his celestial globe; a companion tract on his terrestrial globe appeared the same year. Both were dedicated to Elector John Frederick of Saxony, to whom Schöner presented a pair of globes that survive in Weimar He was rewarded with 100 florins from the Elector. The woodcut illustration coincides closely with the globe on display.
