Just like the weather itself, the history of meteorology has been both dramatic and dull. Intrepid balloonists risked their lives to reach higher in the atmosphere, while the selfless devotion of the daily observer was essential for the creation of reliable records.

This temporary exhibition presents a rich and surprising perspective on the weather, from medieval Oxford philosophers to modern investigations that are literally out of this world, as satellites and space probes research not just our weather but that of other planets too.

A collaboration with Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics [1] and the School of Geography and the Environment [2] at the University of Oxford.
