Buda
Buda had a disturbed history during the period when practical mathematics was flourishing in Europe. Although part of the Hungarian empire of the Habsburgs, significant periods in the sixteenth century were spend under occupation by the Ottoman Turks. Buda was not an important centre of instrument making, except for the presence there of Hans Dorn for a time in the later fifteenth century.
