Pendant Sundial
Unsigned
Medieval; English
Sandstone; 83 x 110 x 23 mm

This dial was used with two gnomons. It was probably intended for the use of priests, enabling them to know the hours of services and prayers.

It is engraved in sandstone and has a hole through it from side to side for inserting a suspension cord.
