Polyhedral Dial
Unsigned
Late 16th century; German
Gilt and silvered brass; 63 mm in diameter

This very unusual instrument is laid out as a polyhedral sundial on the outside of the lid and marked as an azimuth scaphe dial on the inside of the scaphe.

The underlying latitude of circa 47? N suggests a South-German origin.
