Measuring Rod
Unsigned
circa 1600; German
Gilt brass; 340 mm in length

These measuring rods have markings for the specific gravities of different metals, the correspondence between silver and different currencies, and calibre gauges.

This set of three square telescopic rods was wrongly attributed to Josua Habermel, but bears no similarity with his surviving instruments.
