Horizontal Dial
Ulrich Schniep

Gilt brass; 108 x 145 x 8 mm
This dial by Ulrich Schniep has a pin gnomon dial, to be used in latitude of 45? north, and a string gnomon dial, adjustable for three latitudes which, however, are not specified.It also has a calendar marked with the zodiacal signs with finely engraved figures, and some saints' and holy days. The indication of the length of the day has been re-engraved for ease of reading, but the first engraving has not been deleted.
