Diptych Dial

circa 1480; Nuremberg
Ivory; 67 x 46 x 8 mm

Only the lower leaf remains of this very early diptych dial. It has a compass bowl and a horizontal dial with common hours marked from IIII to XII to VIII. A geometrical pattern is engraved beside the compass bowl.
