Renaissance Globe Event: Wood, Leather & Lacquer

Renaissance Globe Event: Wood, Leather & Lacquer

Family Friendly / Drop-in

A handling table of objects made from wood and leather, as well as items featuring traditional lacquered decoration, introduced families to the way materials have been used by different people around the world.

Families then explored the Museum to find objects made from wood and leather, or those finished with a lacquer, drawing labelled pictures of each of their finds. These drawings were hung onto the globe with a striped wool, with a large dot on the globe marking each object’s origin. Families were also invited to decorate the frame of the globe using gold stars.
