East Oxford Primary School Storytelling Project 2011

The Storytelling Project between the Museum of the History of Science and East Oxford Primary School used storytelling to develop ways to make objects in the collection more accessible for children with English as an additional language and raise achievement in their writing. The project involved performances and taught sessions with a professional storyteller and the project coordinator in the museum, and follow-up performance and writing workshops in school. The work of the children was celebrated with a reunion in the museum to which parents were invited, and the stories remained available to the public for several months.
