This is an opportunity for art students to use the resources of the museum to explore ideas relating to the machine and technology in art.
A brief introductory session will introduce ideas about the use and representation of machines and scientific instruments in art including their influence on three very significant movements in twentieth-century art: Dadaism, Surrealism and Futurism.
Students will spend time making drawings from the objects on display in the museum. This may be followed by a session in the Education Room in which students are encouraged to experiment with collage techniques using photocopied and printed images.
