Meet the Museum
Level: Key Stages 1 and 2
Length: Approximately 2 hours
Number of children: Up to 35.
Availability: Usually Mondays or Tuesdays, 10am or 12:30pm
This session provides an ideal introduction to the Museum for children of any age. Exploring the Museum in a fun and interactive way, children have the opportunity to discover how the Museum is put together and to find out about the people involved in keeping an historical collection alive. Children also have a chance to look closely at and investigate some of the Museum’s most interesting objects.
This cross-curricular workshop covers many aspects of the curriculum for each Key Stage including literacy, science, art, citizenship and history. It also provides an opportunity to develop skills of observation, speaking, listening and interpretation.
