Brief Description: Early laboratories like the one situated in this basement in the 17th century would have had large fixed charcoal furnaces. Portable furnaces such as this one made of refractory firecaly and bound with iron straps were popular in the next two centuries.
Primary Inscriptions: Stamped on iron grate: "MORGAN", and aspit door is marked: "1 MORGAN ENGLAND"
