Brief Description: Stereoscopic collodion positive on glass (ambrotype), black taped edges and black mat with gold borders and curved tops. Part of the Crystal Palace, Sydenham, showing sculpture and decorative columns and arches. Good stereoscopic effect provided by the several layers of depth.
Primary Inscriptions: Inscribed on back in a mid 19th-century hand: 'The Elizabethan Court, Crystal Palace | Sydenham - Opake Collodion.'; together with Carpenter & Westley's printed label.
Provenance: Purchased from R. S. Clay in 1944. Part of the Clay Collection.
