Brief Description: Fourth quarter of eighteenth century compound microscope. The flat, folding tripod foot supports a tapered cylindrical pillar with a compass joint supporting the square sectioned limb. A pivoting mount with a rack and pinion at the top of the limb holds an arm. The body tube screws into a threaded ring on the arm. The stage has a two pinholes and two spring clips. It is racked up and down on the limb to focus. A sliding sleeve below the stage holds a condensing lens on a pivoting arm and a lower sleeve holds the horseshoe mount for the Plano-concave mirror there is also a bull's-eye lens and a fishplate on brass pins.
