Brief Description: Mater, rete for 23 stars, 2 plates, replacement nut, bolt and washer. The inside of the mater is inscribed with a universal projection: as such, this astrolabe is one of the earliest western-European examples with the Saphaea Arzachelis before its introduction in the west by Gemma Frisius, circa 1540. Also very unusually, the outer band of the rete is cut with teeth around its entire circumference.
