Brief Description: | In the form of a single flat plate, made for the latitude of Oxford, rivetted to a Y-type rete for 19 stars. Also present is a later wooden case with a manuscript sheet identifying the stars. |

Provenance: | Lent by Oriel College, Oxford in 1924.
It may have come to the College among astronomical instruments bequeathed to Oriel by the astronomer Simon Bredon, who had been a Fellow of Merton in about 1330 and a member of a group of mathematicians in 14th-century Oxford known as the 'Merton School'. |
