This particular Curta calculator, an early Mark I example made by Contina AG in Mauren, Liechtenstein, was formerly used by Dr A. J. Croft of the Clarendon Laboratory, at the University of Oxford Department of Physics, where it was known as 'Dr Croft's snuff-grinder'.
Primary Inscriptions: "CURTA" on cylinder and "System Curt Herzstark / Made in Liechtenstein / by Contina AG Mauren / Type I No 35761" on base.
