Brief Description: Framed full-plate daguerreotype of the Chambre des Deputes, Paris (frontage of a large neo-classical building), on a copper plate stamped 'Lerebours'. Laterally reversed. In original mounting and frame. The image is barely visible to normal viewing, and has been polished or rubbed over at some time in the past; in appropriate conditions it can be seen however, and a black and white photograph was taken of it in 1989. When the (later) backing was removed the plate was found to have been originally held in place by small blobs of sealing wax (see pictures). Companion of 89963.
