Overall height c.270 mm, base 103 x 82 mm. This instrument has a black varnished wooden base which supports a rectangular pillar of brown lacquered brass. The limb, which incorporates the micrometer screw fine-focus mechanism, is triangular. Rough focus is obtained by sliding the body tube in a slit sleeve. The concave mirror is mounted on a pivoted arm, and there is a substage aperture plate with 5 openings.
