Numbered on base and in cap: 776B. Diameter 73mm.

Brass; compass card printed with reversed numerals on green card. Scale divided 0°-360° by 1/2 degrees. Foresight with zenith mirror. Charles Augustus Schmalcalder (fl. 1806-38) invented and patented in 1812 the prismatic compass.
