Gilt and silvered brass. Signed, "HOC HOROLOGIVM FECIT VLRICVS SCHNIEP MONACENSIS AD ELEVATIONEM POLI 38 40 42 44 46 48 50 52 54 GRA ANNO **"
1. A nocturnal (index arm broken) combined with a volvelle giving the times of sunrise and sunset throughout the year in latitudes 42°, 44°, 46° and 48°.

2. A volvelle and aspectarium inscribed, "CIRCVLI HORARV[M] LVNÆ ET HORA: ITALICA:".

3. An inclining dial, adjustable for use in the latitudes mentioned in the inscription quoted above; and a compass. On the sloping edge of the gnomon is a point whose shadow, on lines engraved on the dial-plate, indicates the sun's declination.

4. A table of the latitudes of 48 places.
