German DIPTYCH DIAL
probably c.1600

Probably made by Paul Reinman of Nuremberg as it is signed with a maker's mark, a coronet, used by Reinman until his death in 1609. The same mark was, however, used by Michael Lesel from 1609 until 1629. Ivory and brass.

In the form of a book with clasps. The dial includes a horizontal and a vertical dial, with a common string-gnomon, and a compass.
