Brief Description: Mater; rete for 28 stars; 6 plates; alidade. On the rete there are four knobs for turning. The plates (with the exception of one that is incomplete) are marked with the lines for Muslim prayers. The back of the mater bears the symbols of the signs of the Zodiac, together with their names. Roman and Arabic characters are used for the names of the months.
Primary Inscriptions: Signed on the back: "The work of Ibrahim b. Sa'id al-Sahli, in the city of Toledo in Shawwal in A.H. 460"
Provenance: Presented by Lewis Evans. Evans purchased it from Cantoni of Milan (April 1899).
