Brief Description: Mater, rete, 1 plate, alidade with sights each attached by a screw, throne attached by two screws, nut and bolt. The inside of the mater is inscribed with a quadratum nauticum and the back with a universal projection of the Gemma Frisius type.
This instrument is sometimes attributed to Gualterus Arsenius.
Primary Inscriptions: "Regnerus Arsenius Nepos Gemmæ Frisij fecit Louanij anno 1565" inscribed on the limb below the throne.
Provenance: Presented by Lewis Evans. Bought by Lewis Evans at the sale of the collection of M. Roussel, Paris, 1911.
