Brief Description: Mater; rete; 5 plates; alidade; horse; original wooden case with tooled leather. A ilaqa of blue silk is attached to the suspension ring. The arms of the Archibishop are engraved on the back of the kursi.
Primary Inscriptions: Unsigned and undated
Provenance: Lent by the Bodleian Library. Formerly the property of William Laud, Archbishop of Canterbury, who presented it to the Bodleian Library in 1636. Allegedly, it was given to Laud by John Selden.
