Primary Inscriptions: "IOHANNIS KRABBEN ASTROLABIUM. Cum Gra. et Pruile Cæsar. Maij: WOLFFERBYTÆ. FACIEBAT JOHANNES KRABBE MVNDENSIS ANNO M.D. LXXXIII." on the back below the coat of arms of Henricus Julius, Bishop of Halberstadt, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg.
Provenance: Presented by Lewis Evans. Purchased by Lewis Evans from Lagermann in Munich in 1910 as part of Lagermann's collection as a whole ('Lagermann' may be read as 'Jagermann' or 'Yagerman' - nothing else is known of him).
