Welcome to the Museum of the History of Science collections’ live search page. The database holds information about and photos of objects in the collection and is continuously being updated. Basic Search | Advanced Search | Field Search
There are a number of different ways to search the collections database:
- The basic search is a simple keyword search of the key fields in the museum’s collections database.
- The advanced search is similar to the basic search but allows for more complex queries.
- The field search allows searches which are targeted on one or more of the key database fields.
Information on microscope slides in the collection is kept separately from the main collections database; see the introductory page within the Small Worlds website for search options.
The collections database excludes records of books held in the library: for these, see the library catalogue.
