Brief Description: Microscope by W. Ladd. Two blue board boxes of glass slides accompany microscope. First box contains 29 glass slides including 15 photomicrographs, including one of the moon. Box two contains 26 glass and board slides, many paper covered.

Probably made by Ladd; it has his registered chain focus which was in the 1851 exhibition.
Primary Inscriptions: "W. Ladd Penton Place Walworth Registered N° 2809" [engraved on foot]
Provenance: Purchased from Dr C.N.J. Mann, Pembroke College, Oxford. Previously owned by the father of the vendor, Dr C.N.J. Mann.
