Brief Description: | Similar to the suction pump except that this pump has a double action. First, the water is sucked into the cylinder in the usual way, but instead of lifting it to a spout, it is pushed into a side reservoir of glass. Air trapped in this reservoir helps to expel the water on the upstroke, producing a continuous jet of water as with the old-fashioned fire pumps. | ||||||||||
