|Brief Description:||The brass optical components of this microscope are carried on a 'Lister 1imb' (often called 'Jackson1imb'), mounted to one side of the vertical pillar on a flat tripod foot. The stand is made of iron. The curved limb holds a sleeve with the body tube. The body can be racked up and down within the sleeve, for focusing, by a double mill-edged knob at the side of the sleeve. The compound eyepiece pushes into the top of the body and the lower end has an internal thread to take an objective. The stage is a rectangular brass plate with a threaded stage hole. There is dovetail bracket at underneath the stage, at the front to hold a mount for accessories. A post at the lower end of the limb carries the concave mirror on a horseshoe mount.|
