|Brief Description:||This brass instrument stands on a cylindrical pillar on a flat tripod foot, inscribed with the maker's name and address. A compass joint at the top of the pillar holds the stage and cylindrical limb. The stage has a bracket on two pins, to hold specimens, and below is a rotating disk with five apertures. A triple mill-edged knob extends an inner cylinder from the top of the limb and an arm is attached to the top of this cylinder. The body tube has a blackened eyecup and screws into a ring at the end of the arm. It has an internal thread at the lower end for objectives.|
