Brief Description: This brass microscope has a hollow cylindrical pillar standing on a hinge on a rectangular plate. A concave mirror in a horseshoe mount is set on the same hinge. The reverse side of the mirror is white plaster. The rectangular stage is mounted at the top of the pillar. It has a circular stage hole, three pinholes for accessories and a U shaped spring clip to hold slides. A double mill-edged knob on the side of the pillar, near the stage, racks a triangular post upwards from within the pillar. A split ring on an arm is screwed to the top of the post and objectives push into the ring. There are four objectives in a canister, a glass slide, stage forceps, a bull's-eye lens on a steel pin with a brass mount, a specimen chamber on a brass plate, a steel pin on an ivory handle and two Lieberkuhn in a canister, with this microscope. The fitted mahogany box is lined with blue velvet.
