Brief Description: The electro-magnetic escapement operates according to the system devised by Robert Houdin. The pendulum has two curved arms attached near the top.

This clock by Constantin Louis Detouche adopts the electro-magnetic design of celebrated magician and mechanic Robert Houdin, in whose honour his most famous pupil called himself Houdini.
Primary Inscriptions: Signed: "C - DETOUCHE FOURNISSEUR DE L'EMPEREUR RUE St. MARTIN Nos 228 & 230 PARIS" (on dial). "C DETOUCHE 17643 BREVETE S.G.D.G." (on reverse).
