Provenance: Lent by the Royal Society in 1932. Owned and used by Captain William E. Parry, R.N., on his Arctic voyage in 1827, and afterwards presented to W. Salmon, R.N., by Vice-Admiral Sir George Seymour on H.M.S. Cumberland at Halifax, 13 March 1854.
