Brief Description: Shaped scrollwork base plate; part-circle hour band in circular ring; sprung plummet mount (plummet missing); folding latitude quadrant; complass base adjustable for variation; three feet. Fishskin-covered case with latitude disc and 19th century quote from Shakespeare on Society for the Promotion of Christian Knowledge stamped paper.
Primary Inscriptions: "Chr: Friderich Winter / in Augspurg 48 Gradus" on underside of compass bowl
