Brief Description: Reproduction photograph of Marconi in the full dress uniform of an Italian Marchese, with the MP and postal reformer John Henniker Heaton, probably photographed at the Houses of Parliament. Marconi is wearing his Civilian Gentleman's Ceremonial Sword (Inv. Num. 55702) and Civilian Gentleman's Ceremonial Cocked Hat (Inv. Num. 78080).
The photographer Sir Benjamin Stone, also a politician, took group photographs that included Marconi and Heaton in 1905 (National Portrait Gallery), signing them in very similar manner.
Primary Inscriptions: "J. Benjam / Guglielmo Marconi J. Henniker Heaton" handwritten signatures beneath photograph [part of the photographer's signature has been trimmed away].
