Brief Description: Wooden body with printed compass- and dial-card. There is a wooden lid to cover the glass and a sliding compartment to house a (spare?) needle. Brass sights with alternating slit and thread are detachable and secured from below by wing nuts. Fixed to the underside by wing nuts is a brass socket for a staff or tripod. All pairs of detachable parts are differentiated by a 5 dot pattern.
Primary Inscriptions: "W.R. DubliƱ. fe. Latitude 53 20 * 1667 *" on the compass card.
