Busts facing left of Scientia superposing Mercury. The border is a band of alternating thistle, rose, and shamrock.
Box: a red leather compact lined with white silk and blue velvet.
The published note reads "The Large Silver Medal was presented to Mr. J. Holland, 6, Manor Place, Walworth, for his Microscopic Triplet and Doublet; from which the following communication has been received.'
Primary Inscriptions: "TO Mr. J. HOLLAND. MDCCCXXII. FOR HIS MICROSCOPIC TRIPLET SOCv. INSd. LONDON 1753" on the reverse "W WYON" signed on the obverse.
Provenance: Deposited by the Royal Microscopical Society with their collection. Presented by Mrs. Holland, 1870.
