Brief Description: The dial is held in a cabinet that sits on a platform between two large wheels. The device is moved by pushing a handle that is attached to the platform via a long shaft. The handle has a hinged stand allowing for it to be propped up.
Primary Inscriptions: "B. MARTIN . LONDON. / The Outer Circle is Chains & Links. / 10 Poles = 220 Yards = 10 Chains = 1 Furlong. / 8 Furlongs = 1 Mile. / 4 Poles = 1 Chain. / 16 1/2 Fts or 5 1/2 Yds. = 1 Pole - In. 7 92/100 = 1 Link."on face of meter.
