Brief Description: This copper alloy instrument stands on a housing on a lead weighted base. A section is cut away from the housing to allow light to a plane mirror or a prism within, for substage illumination. The mechanical stage is circular and revolves. A pillar with a square cross section and a compass joint attaches to a bracket on the housing. The body is held in a sleeve on an arm on the pillar. Eyepieces push into the top of the body and the lower end has a bayonet fitting for objectives. There are five eyepiece assemblies, a condensing lens on a copper alloy stand, two copper alloy stands with a circular bases, and an articulated arm with a rectangular base. The fitted mahogany case has purple padding in the lid.
