Brief Description: Sheet of plain paper loosely folded (similar to the companion wrapper 52127), no other inscription, purplish stain. The wrapper (packet 31 in the Museum's numbering) contains 3 experimental photographs dating from about 1842.
Primary Inscriptions: 'Cyanotype | Variety (c)' [in Herschel's hand].
Provenance: Presented by Miss Herschel and Lady Lubbock in 1928. They were the two surviving and youngest children of Sir John Herschel (Francisca and Constance).
