Brief Description: Engraving, vertical format: child seated reading a newspaper, with spectacles, hat, cane, and a toy horse, the child looking to left. On heavy paper. The print has been lightly oiled or waxed, making it yellowy brown, and amber to transmitted light.

Provenance: Presented by Miss Herschel and Lady Lubbock in 1928. They were the two surviving and youngest children of Sir John Herschel (Francisca and Constance).
