Brief Description: | An induction coil with a variable interrupter for generating a range of electrical stimuli. An unusually long wood plank, cut in half and hinged together, has a dovetail groove cut down the centre. Alongside the groove is a mm scale set into the plank. Into this groove fits a wood base on which is mounted an ebonite covered copper wire tube and two copper screws for output. The tube slides along the groove where, at one end, it fits over a cylinder of silk-covered copper wire which is connected to a DC input supply. The position of the tube in relation to the cylinder changes the quality of the outgoing electrical charge. The interrupter consists of an electrically maintained pendulum, its swing controlled by a stop screw. | ||||||||||
